One cookie, a handful of local-storage entries, and counting that cannot tell you apart.
Deutsche Fassung: Cookies & Tracking
No advertising cookies. No tracking pixels. No profiling, no data brokers, nothing sold or shared for anyone else's marketing.
We do count page views and five actions — a search, an upvote, opening the add-clip form, submitting it, and signing up — so we can see which parts of the site are used. It is cookieless and aggregate: nothing is stored on your device for it, and no name, email, search term or clip title is ever sent. We cannot tell one reader from another with it, which is why there is no consent banner for it.
| Name and purpose | Kept |
|---|---|
| om_session Cookie Records that this browser passed the private-preview password gate. | Until it expires or you clear it |
| om_auth Local storage Keeps you signed in between visits. | Until you sign out |
| om_lang Local storage The language you picked. | Until you clear it |
| om_theme Local storage Light, dark or system display mode. | Until you clear it |
| om_prefs Local storage Your notification and comment-sort settings, so a thread sorts your way on first paint. | Until you sign out |
| om_saves Local storage Clips you saved. | Until you clear it |
| om_follows Local storage Players you follow. | Until you clear it |
| om_anon Local storage A random id so votes from a signed-out visitor are not counted twice. It is not linked to a person. | Until you clear it |
| om_pkce Local storage Written only if you tap "Continue with Google": a one-time random value that proves the sign-in coming back is the one this browser started. Deleted the moment you are signed in. | Minutes — deleted on completion |
Clearing your browser data removes all of it. Signing out removes the session and settings entries immediately.
YouTube. Videos are embedded from youtube-nocookie.com, which holds back advertising cookies until you actually play something. Press play and YouTube receives your IP address and applies its own rules — that part is outside our control.
TikTok. A member can add a TikTok video to a page. The still on the card is a copy we host ourselves, so simply opening a page with one on it sends nothing to TikTok. When you tap it, TikTok's own player loads on the clip's page — TikTok receives your IP address and sets tt_chain_token, a cookie of its own that lasts about six months. No TikTok code runs on our pages at any point: the player is a frame of theirs, not a script of ours.
Google Fonts. The typefaces are loaded from Google servers, which means Google sees your IP address when a page loads.
Vercel Web Analytics. The site is hosted by Vercel, and its analytics script counts the page views and five actions described above. It sets no cookies and builds no profile.
Continue with Google. This is a link, not a Google script. No Google sign-in code runs on our pages and no Google cookie is set here, so if you never tap it, Google learns nothing about your visit from it. Tapping it takes you to Google's own sign-in page, where Google's terms apply — see the privacy page for exactly what we receive back (an email address and an account id, and deliberately not your name or your picture).
Nothing else on the page comes from anyone else — no ad networks, no advertising or profiling scripts, no social buttons.
The full picture is on the privacy page.
This is how other members will see you on every clip you add. You can fill in the rest whenever you like.
Yes — Ola Mayor uses cookies and local storage. Here is every one of them, and what it is for.
A cookie, set by us. om_session — remembers that you passed the preview password so you are not asked on every page. Set for 30 days, and readable only by the server (HttpOnly).
Local storage, set by us. Kept on your device and never sent anywhere: your sign-in (om_auth), saved clips (om_saves), players you follow (om_follows), language (om_lang), display mode (om_theme), your preferences (om_prefs), and an anonymous key so a report is not counted twice (om_anon).
Third party, and only if you tap it. A post from X shows as a still image. Tapping it loads X's own player — so the video plays here and the creator is credited with the view — and X then sets its own cookies, which we do not control. Do not tap it and nothing is ever requested from X. YouTube clips use youtube-nocookie.com and load only when you press play.
What we do not do: advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or selling your data. To clear everything we store, clear this site's data in your browser.
